A few weeks ago while still in New York, I visited Lime Hollow, a wonderful little nature preserve on the edge of the town of Cortland, NY. It was a very unique and interesting place. There were several groups of kids of varying ages spread throughout the huge park participating in summer camps which made it a bit odd walking through some parts of the trails.

But, then suddenly as I turned a corner there was a band consisting of a salamander on a banjo made of a bucket and broomstick, a beaver playing drums, and a turtle on chimes.

But, the star of the band was a cool cat with fins for feet, who played a horn adorned with a two-headed snake. Oooh, and the music was absolutely superb.

Another turn and I faced a fire-breathing dragon who appeared to be from the underworld!
I didn't stay long there.

Soon I came upon a field which held a wondrous throne adorned with stones and stars and all sorts of animals from birds to fish to spiders and a fox.

It was perfect for sitting on to listen to the stories told by the big blue man in the moon, along with Owl and Raven.

They are all such interesting storytellers. Oh! And then there were the talking trees,

they were a sight to see. As you can see I enjoyed my time spent there.
